Our impact
Our environmental impact
At Thimon, the environment has been at the heart of our concerns for many years. We think and design our installations to reduce our environmental impact, from the manufacturing of our machines to their use by our customers.
Giving plastic a second life:
At present, the packaging of products on pallets is mainly done using a plastic consumable. This consumable is collected by sorting and recycling professionals, and now also by the manufacturers of this material themselves. This allows them to reintegrate the collected material and limit the use of virgin material.
We are also working with plastic film specialists and manufacturers to develop consumables that contain more and more recycled material, while being perfectly suitable for industrial use on end-of-line machines.
With our partners, we have worked on shrink hoods containing up to 70% PCR (Post-Consumer Recycle) and we are in the process of qualifying wrapping films containing more and more recycled material.
Our Research and Development function
contributes to the implementation of other actions, with the aim of improving our environmental objectives.
BandoFix, for example, our latest patented process is a solution that reduces consumables and energy by 15-20% and avoids the generation of volatile plastic waste.
We are optimising our cycles to reduce the energy consumption of our machines. We are also introducing several innovations to reduce the amount of consumables used as same as the thickness of our plastic films.
With BandoFix, the packaging of your pallet does not degrade over time. This more durable packaging permits to reduce the thickness of the film used by an average of 150 g per pallet, i.e. a reduction of around 20% in plastic materials.
Reduction of CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions:
To reduce our environmental impact, we optimise the transport of our raw materials by favouring local partners. Most of our suppliers are located in our department or in our region.
All the machines we deliver to our customers are assembled in our workshops beforehand. From the painting to the realisation of our electrical cabinets, we systematically think about limiting the number of unnecessary transports.
