Maison Jean Loron testimony
MAISON JEAN LORON, one of the most prestigious and oldest winegrowers in Bourgogne, France (its origins date back to 1711), opened its doors to us to show us its activity.
It was also an opportunity to discuss their experience with the THIMON machines, respectively installed in 1981 and 1995, and which they do not seem ready to get rid of….
About Maison Jean Loron
Located between the Roche de Solutré in the Mâconnais and the Moulin à Vent in the Beaujolais, MAISON JEAN LORON « produces wines that reveal the best climates ». Permanent attention is given to respecting the diversity of each terroir, to produce the best of Gamay noir, Chardonnay and Pinot noir.
Collaboration with Thimon
On its bottling site, MAISON JEAN LORON uses two THIMON wrapping machines to pack its production and thus take care of its products:
- A semi-automatic model (dating from 1981, and no longer on the market), mainly used for manual pallet pick-ups;
- An automatic model with turntable (dating from 1995 and ancestor of our WRA-PAL ELITE), installed in the continuity of a palletising cell.
According to Mr. GODOY (Maintenance Manager) : « Not only are these machines still in operation after all these years, but they are also in excellent condition! Easy to maintain, they almost never break down. Today, if they cost me €100 per year in maintenance costs, that's the end of the world. ».
As proof of his satisfaction, Mr. GODOY recently chose to replace his entire automation system, rather than scraping his equipment for new ones.
"When we have to invest in new equipment, the first criteria we look at MAISON JEAN LORON is not the price. We first study the quality of the machine's design and its total cost of ownership (TCO).
And on these points, THIMON is a real reference for us. It's a guarantee of quality which, I hope, will allow them to continue for many decades to come."
Pierre-Yves GODOY, Maintenance Manager at MAISON JEAN LORON
